A Message from Energy Ventures – October 2014

There has been a lot of activity in an around our firm and, as co-managing partners, we would like to take this opportunity to update you on recent achievements.

We are pleased to start things off on a very high note by announcing that Energy Ventures has reached its 17th exit through the sale of 2TD. The deal marks the second exit from our fourth fund and underlines our commitment to supporting companies with marketable technologies that provide solutions to long-term oilfield challenges.

Over the past several months, Energy Ventures has been involved in several exciting industry events. ONS 2014 celebrated its 40th anniversary and reached record high attendance numbers, bringing more than 91,000 visitors to Stavanger. Additionally, senior partner and Houston office president Jim Sledzik delivered the keynote presentation at the annual Rice Alliance Energy and Clean Technology Venture Forum in September. The event attracted 400 attendees, including investors, venture capitalists, and industry leaders, and showcased business presentations from up-and-coming energy and clean technology companies. We invite you to view Jim’s keynote presentation here.

Our existing portfolio has also been very active over the last few months. Several of our companies have brought in new leadership, signed partnership agreements and delivered successful field trial results. Energy Ventures also remains busier than ever as we focus efforts on company stewardship and exits. We are confident that our current momentum will continue throughout the end of the year and look forward to updating you on future accomplishments.
