LivePIPE System at Pipeline Integrity Management Forum
Church Crookham, UK, 15th March 2016 – Fotech Solutions, the linear asset monitoring technology specialist, will be exhibiting at the ninth annual Pipeline Integrity Management Summit on 15th-17th March in Berlin, Germany.
At the show, Fotech will be showcasing its sophisticated LivePIPE® pipeline monitoring solution. LivePIPE adds a new layer of intelligence to pipeline security operations, enabling operators to prevent third party intrusions at the earliest possible stage and enhance leak detection systems.
“Fotech’s LivePIPE system is a major value-add for pipeline operators, enabling them to significantly enhance the range and capabilities of existing pipeline security and monitoring systems,” commented Stuart Large, Product Line Director, Fotech Solutions. “Our LivePIPE solution is a powerful tool that operators can use to mitigate malign and accidental threats. When integrated with the fibre network adjacent to the pipeline, LivePIPE’s monitoring capabilities can cover a limitless distance. This gives operators unprecedented visibility of what is happening along the entire length of the pipeline and, crucially, facilitates fast, informed and confident real-time decision making.”
The LivePIPE system connects directly into an operator’s fibre optic network, converting a standard optical fibre, which is attached or adjacent to a pipeline, into tens of thousands of individual highly-sensitive vibrational sensors. This enables LivePIPE to accurately identify and locate disturbances and potential threats where sound and vibrations disturb the casing of the fibre.
Additionally, Fotech’s proprietary alarm-handling technology is configured to emphasise only alerts for events that operators want to know about. This means that not only are false alarms considerably reduced with LivePIPE, but operators can also rest assured that genuine threats are not being overlooked.
The Pipeline Integrity Management Forum brings together senior industry experts to discuss major issues affecting the European Oil & Gas market and a key focus at the show will be the role of the latest inspection technologies.
Fotech will be exhibiting its LivePIPE solution in the Florenz foyer area throughout the show.
